Seychelles, 2 May 2006:
7 participants from Helicopter Seychelles as well as 6 pilots from IDC
(Island Development Company) have just completed their two-days training on
Maritime Survival.
The training was conducted by Mr Lex Rocky Heemstra; a
pilot instructor from Anglo African Management Concepts based in Pretoria,
South Africa.
The course itself covered topics such as surviving at sea, land survival,
ditching and dunking procedures, flight preparation and equipment, being
rescued and post trauma.
On the final day of the training, dunking theory had to be put into
practice. Participants had to now dunk into the sea and swim up to the life
raft.
