Seychelles, 5th March 2007:
The newly opened five star resort Labriz Silhouette is located along a two kilometres
stretch of sand beach at La Passe on Silhouette Island. Labriz is the
Seychellois Creole word for the breeze, a gentle gust of wind from the sea.
The hotel is the first property in the Seychelles by Universal Resorts, who are
renowned for their successful resorts in the Maldives.

Labriz Silhouette offers three accommodation categories, with 17 Pavilions
being the most luxurious experience. Each of the spacious nine Ocean Pavilions and
eight Mountainview Pavilions has a size of 185qm including a pool set in a private garden
and a separate pavilion for en-suite spa treatments or romantic dinners. 60
Beach Villas (101qm) lie hidden amongst the tropical vegetation only steps
away from the beach. Six of these villas feature a private plunge pool. 28 Garden Villas
with a size of 88qm are set amidst the lush vegetation. Their contemporary design
includes outdoor showers with views of the impressive Mount Dauban.
Guests of Labriz Silhouette can choose from various restaurants offering different
specialties. The restaurant Portobello serves modern Italian cuisine with outdoor
seating next to the lake and views of Mount Dauban, Silhouette's highest peak. The Sakura grill restaurant is
located right on the beach where guests have the option to dine with the feet in the sand at
low tide. Its central show kitchen prepares freshly caught seafood in front of
the guests. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are offered as buffets with
International cuisine and Creole specialties at the All Day Dining Cafe
Restaurant.
First class local cuisine is served at the Grann Kaz, a restored Seychellois
plantation house and former home of the Dauban family, the previous owners of the island.
It also houses a library, museum, art gallery and a boutique.
A wellness haven is the Aquum Spa, offering Creole-influenced spa therapies surrounded
by breathtaking scenery. The mountainside treatment pavilions are set on stilts
amidst massive granite boulders. The spa combines exotic ingredients, such as white orchid,
fresh papaya and cinnamon, with signature therapies like hot stone massage or Thai
massage.
Labriz Silhouette arranges various excursions on land and at sea. Mountain walks and
expeditions with a resident naturalist give an insight into the flora and fauna of
the island. The Activity Centre offers PADI scuba diving and non-motorised watersports
including kayaking and snorkelling. The resort also has a fitness centre and tennis court.
From Seychelles International Airport in Mahé the resort can be reached in 15
minutes by helicopter. For more information about Labriz Silhouette
