| Bazaar la Brinn |
Seychelles, 15 November 2005:
This year the Seychelles board of tourism organised the locally renowned
Bazaar la Brinn, which is a beachside bazaar giving the local vendors and
artists the opportunity to display their crafts. Here they can promote
their beautiful woodcrafts, shell necklaces or hand painted pictures and garments.
In a traditional atmosphere Creole delicacies such as curries, grilled fish
and chicken, a variety of salads, chutneys and homemade deserts are prepared for the
enjoyment of the visitors.
You will be tempted to complete your meal with a desert called
Ladob - which is banana, breadfruit
or sweet potato cooked in a mixture of a lot of sugar and coconut milk.

To liven the ambiance, a small group of local musicians is singing moutia songs on the beach.
Moutia songs were traditionally sang by field workers after a hard days work
during colonial times.
Young Seychellois girls and boys are dancing around the singing group and mingle
with happy tourists enjoying the tropical lifestyle.
The event takes place every Wednesday evening from 4.30pm until about
9pm at Beau Vallon, along the way from Coral Strand Hotel to Al Maré Restaurant.
